A comparison of regulations is made in the article, regarding the tolerated tensions in concrete on pression and in steel on extension, as well as regarding rules of computing prestressing tasses, and of figuring out the safety of constructions. The shortcomings in the French regulations consist, above all, in the too> rigid demand for an 8 %» reserve pression in the edge fibre, and in the absence of rules as to the tolerated tensions
