The ratio between compression grade and the coefficient of compressibility with cohesive materials used in road construction

 

Summary
The lack of uniform Yugoslav specifications for road design and construction makes difficulties in road design and construction in Yugoslavia. The troubles occur ever before the initial works, when the method of the quality control of the carried out roadway layers or the material used for the building of the roadway, is to be chosen.
The control of the obtained compression of the materials built in the subgrade or in the single roadway layers is carried out in this country as well as in the other countries according to two methods:
control of the obtained compression of materials according to the standard Proctor method,
control of the obtained compression, respectively bearing capacity of layers by plate test according to Swiss, resp. German method.
The author states the methods used for testing the characteristics of the materials, factors that are important for the ratio between compression grade and the coefficient of compressibility with cohesive materials used in road construction.

 

Summary
