PATHOLOGY OF THE HIGH BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS

PATHOLOGY OF THE HIGH BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS
Synopsis
The purpose of this article is to describe some damages frequently found in the building constructions built in this country some years ago'.
The article emphasises the fact that the damages are mostly due to the disregarding of the coefficients of thermal expansion and insufficiently isolated roof structures. In addition numerous damages in the parting walls can be partly imputed to the structures ovorloaded with bending moments due to creeping and
partly to the skrinking of the building elements. Similar phenomena can be observed in the building elements of cantilevers and girders acted upon by the bending moments. In addition numerous cracks can be: found in the reinforced concrete structures because of the inadequate quality of cements.
The article considers in detail the damages caused by the above indicated reasons namely: creeping, tem-peraitune effects and bad quality of cements.
